I read of this raid some time back, a Beaufighter flew down the Champs Elysees and dropped a large French tricolour on the Arc De Triumph and then sent a few 20mm shells into Gestapo HQ. I had always thought it was on Bastille Day, but seems I'm wrong. I've also often wondered what other raids of a similar nature were done during the war, not so much for material destruction, but more for morale,etc, basically sticking a finger up to the enemy.
