In a 1970's issue of NZ Wings there is a photo in one of their comedy photo collections of a Strikemaster sitting on the tarmac at (I guess) Ohakea. A complete set of top wings with struts from a biplane, my guess from a Tiger Moth, are sitting on the jet.
I wondered what the story was, as the caption does not explain. Was this a mocked up photo (like the four-engined F-27 and low flying Devon?). It doesn't look fake at all. It looks like some wags have genuinely balanced the top wings on the Strikemaster.
Anyone know if it were real or fake? If real, what was the story and what were the wings off? It was long before the RNZAF Museum had any Tiger Moths.
