I am just back from 23's final parade for the year. Parents come along and watch while we are inspected by a guest of some sort, then we go inside for the presentation of awards and such. I managed it get the Progressive Club Shooting badge this year, which I'm very pleased with. All of our SNCO's are leaving this year, which is sad as they are liked by all of us and have been a core part of 23 for some time now. However, most of them end up coming back at least once, and some of them still have family involved so they can never truly leave . On the plus side of that, a lot of NCO's leaving means more promotion opportunities for me and my flight, so hopefully we'll all reach corporal next year. How are everyone else's end of year parades going? Does anyone previously in ATC have memorable experiences with end of year parades? (If I can be bothered I'll upload some pictures of the parade later)

I attended the No 17 Squadron final parade in the Atrium of the Air Force Museum at Wigram a couple of week ago. It was my first ATC parade since my own final one in Invercargill in Dec 1983! I was there to support my neice who had joinded the unit at the start of the year. She was awarded the Endevour trophy which was a fantastic surprise for us. Well done Emma! Guest speaker was Group Captain Russell Sowden, one of my old Air Force bosses!
