Here are a few photos I took last weekend. The opportunity came up to fly in this wonderful aeroplane thanks to Warren and Jerry, and Keith Skilling took me for a fly. Should probably write something more in depth later on and through my photography. Have been able to fly in some nice aeroplanes but the flight in KA114 just blew me away. Have been such a huge fan of the Mosquito since I was a kid and I never thought I would ever see one fly let alone fly in one. The sound inside was incredible, with slightly raised voices we could talk to each other and that surprised me. Sitting between two 1625 hp merlins really is something else and flying in an aeroplane that has a huge amount of performance is something I will not forget in a hurry and I doubt the experience will ever be topped. Flying around the gulf area at low level and good bank angles was very exciting, setting up for landing is a busy time and not having any real visual references out the fron was a bit unusual. This will be my last post for a while, am looking to give the camera a rest for a while which will be good. Thanks for keeping the forum alive for another year Dave, has been good catching up with some of the members about the place. Cheers Gavin I regard this as the best photo I have ever taken, the experience, view, history, the great people I have got to know whilst it has been restored to fly, and what this aeroplane means to everybody makes this one a of a kind picture and if I had to hang the camera up tomorrow I would be more than satisfied.

And the other camera is taking shots or video as well! I know I am only new here but I have really been in awe of your photography - at least you get to be in the right place at the right time so that does help! And you enjoy flying yourself... Thanks making for the calendar too - yet to find the adverts for it! That will be a well looked at wall piece at work...

There is a fantastic and very detailed set of photos of the instruments in the cockpit etc and of the aircraft construction, bomb bay, cannons, MG's, engine bay, hydraulics, cylinders etc of KA114 here... www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.575710145789407.151051.100000512811715&type=1It's not quite in line with the title of the thread but Gavin's photos show the instrument panel, so I thought more detail may be appreciated!

Stunning! We have all so enjoyed your regular photo updates Gavin. We are so lucky to have this aeroplane here, even if only for a short time. Your coverage of it has been incredible. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Lucky lucky lucky man Gavin. As with all who have had the chance to fly with Dave or Keith in the Mossie, well done and well deserved. Thanks heaps for all of your photo coverage, I've bought one of the calendars for next year. It will brighten up my workstation and confirm my status at work as #1 aircraft enthusiast.

That last photo is stunning. I have seen paintings so accurate they look they photos, but that photo looks like a painting.
If you are taking a break, you are certainly going out on top. That's the new wallpaper on the iPad sorted.
Have a Merry one!!

I have just seen a new video of KA114 flying filmed by Scott Slocum as previously mentioned elsewhere and published by Aeromedia Group. Fabulous video!! Dave Philips pilot I believe.

Great video. Even the Mrs enjoyed it.
My only (very minor) gripe is that, for those who know Ardmore, the start-up sequence is obviously taken in two different places.
