It must be Christmas time as the news agencies are rehashing old news again. They have been saying this Lancaster will fly again for about 15 years. It'll be some time before it flies.....

Have you some insider info Dave? The plan was only officially announced about three years ago and now they have four airworthy engines they say three-four years, I believe.

Yeah it was about 3 years ago when talk of a return to flight was mentioned. Over the last couple of years they have got the airworthy engines, the last was only recently recieved. They have been gathering other parts and spares to get the Lancaster airworthy and keep the aircraft airworthy. Looking good so far...

Um, the first I saw it was in FlyPast many years ago. One of the brothers was interviewed in the 1990's and he stated they intended to get it flying in the long term. I can't recall the date, but I mentioned that old article on the FlyPoop forum once and people then said that they had been planning it for a long time as a long term goal.
I still think it is great and look forward to seeing photos of it aloft, but seriously this new round of news articles is hoopla. They should wait till a week before take off.

Ah, I never knew that. I had presumed the flying idea was fairly new and that, til then, they were content to have her taxi.
Anyway, it will be great if/when she flies again. More power to them!
