Anyone know what the Iroquois that spent a few hours thumping around my place in the hills west of Lower Hutt this afternoon was up to? Appeared to be investigating things in Belmont regional park, with maybe a landing in Avalon park. Not too common a sight in these parts, hence my curiosity .

Yep, I know exactly what they were doing, but probably shouldn't say more than they were 'gardening'.

While out on a bike ride I stopped to watch them doing a bit of winching just south of the Heywards power substation. Darned funny way to lay mines

I was at Silverstream College watching grandson Tom take two of Wellington College's wickets. and observed the Iroquois both on the way up there, and on the way back after refuelling at Trentham. On the way back to the hill, it passed low over the College, and as the doors were open, and it had policemen in it, and as it was in a slow hover going up and down various hills of Belmont, I put two and two together.
Gardening, my arse, they were looking fo wacky baccy.
