After a hellish time putting together a fujimi skyhawk... then discovering everytime you paint it gold, the shade's slightly different... then discovering that the guy who sold it to you was wrong and it doesn't fit the jubilee decals on... and then after sticking them all on, finding that there's this lovely blue stuff that's formed a line around every decal, underneath them... even where there's no blue... Feel like blowing the thing up!
I knew it was the wrong week to read a self-help book called "Unglued"!

Hmmm that's sad after all that time - and solvents in the decals have created a blue edge - very frustrating...

Are those the MA decals? I've read they don't fit anything quite correctly, being too small in a couple of their dimensions. Are you making the 72nd scale Fujimi Skyhawk, or the '1/48' one?

Isn't the Fujimi Skyhawk 1/50th?

Isn't the Fujimi Skyhawk 1/50th? Yup, the very old 1/48th fujimi isn't quite as big as it says on the box. It's also a pretty ugly mould accuracy wise based on the the ones I have seen. It is an odd comparison with its 1/72 cousin. The MA decals and instructions aren't 100% accurate either I found when I did mine, but they are the only game in town these days.

Isn't the Fujimi Skyhawk 1/50th? Yes, hence my '' around the '1/48'! On the other hand, their 1/72 skyhawks are lovely little kits.

Yeah it's the 1/48 Skyhawk... The decals were some British crowd that are now out of business. Discovered that when I wrote my letter regarding decal quality! The general populace have all said how lovely the plane looks so might leave it at the back of the shelf- was thinking of just painting it dark green with low-vis markings...

I bought their Seasprite decals, the artwork for which looked spot on in their website, and even the instructions included with the decals show them the correct colour, but the decals themselves are pale green, rather than blue grey.
I have a few other sets of theirs though (ISAF aircraft including Lucy and Michelle Harriers) and an OP TELIC sheet and the Dragon Bae Hawk, all of which look to be really nice.
