The creator and owner of this eclectic collection has just passed away. www.gatwick-aviation-museum.co.uk/A delightful English gent who battled the local council to keep going. The museum is in the Gatwick Control Zone but has a strip which ATC will allow you to use and makes for an interesting arrival. Always a warm welcome. www.gatwick-aviation-museum.co.uk/graphics/info1.jpgSeems that as with these one man bands it's future is in doubt.

Hi, I am a member of the engineering team at Gatwick Aviation Museum.
Thank you for the kind, positive comments. The future of the museum is not in doubt. Peter Vallance set up a Charitable Trust to take over the running of the museum in the event of his death. This is now in place and the board of trustees has met a number of times. Peters original vision for the museum will be persued by the Trust and the museum members. The museum is currently closed to visitors for a couple of reasons, firstly in deference to his family and secondly we have to make some changes to the site for security purposes.
It is our expectation that the museum will re-open with effect from the 1st of March.
We believe that the museum will grow and prosper and become the centre of aviation and education that Peter Vallance envisioned for more than 25 years

Good to hear Peter It would be sad for it to be split up esp after all of the effort that has gone into establishing and building it up.
This place is on the bucket list
