Hi guys As the title says, I have here Auster J-5G ex VH-ADX. Some of you may know her as she has been around the traps for a long while now and loosing bits along the way. Anyway she is in my possesion at the moment and I am looking to sell her off for whatever I can (it will be cheap). She has kindly donated a few missing parts toward my Auster T7 but is in need of someone to give her the good home she deserves. There is no engine, but a full set of cowls, she has had new woodwork and fabric some time ago. I have the remains of the wings and there is no rudder or tailfeathers (not sure where they ended up) This is how she once looked And this is her now in my garage awaiting a new owner Since this photo was taken I have her absolutely loaded up to the gunnals with parts. She has a 90% complete instrument panel and loads of great parts still. I just dont have the space for 2 Austers, or the money to rebuild 2!!! I have loads of Auster bits and can help out with some missing items. Drop me an email if you are interested on abgalbraith@clear.net.nz Please just make an offer, I wont be offended, she needs to go. Cheers Anthony

Aww man! And here I am without a job to pay for it, otherwise I'd be very keen. I'd love a project with a reasonable likelihood of flying again. Good luck Anthony, and I hope she stays in NZ.

Thanks Zac, I hope she stays here as well.
Always remember mate, these things never turn up at the right time for $$. Each time I spent money on my Auster or paid a big bill off......'bam' the bargin of a lifetime turns up.
Every time!!
Anyway, lets see what happens, you never know
Cheers Anthony

Hey Chris! Long time no hear mate!!
Hows that chopper coming along? Maybe you could have used this fuse as a play thing with a slide coming out the front!
Heh, heh just joking, just in case anyone takes me seriously.
Thanks mate and good to hear from you again.

Well, thanks to this great forum, the Auster has gone to another forumite!
Baz, I told you mate, we will have them all converted some way or another!!! Anyway, thanks for your supportive comments, and most of all she is going to a GREAT home where she will be well cared for.
If the proud new owner wants, he can let you all know who it is, Heh no its not Dave!
Cheers Anthony

Yes it is a great forum and I have an admission.... well a confession if you must.
I did actually think about it, if only for a few nanoseconds. I have always had a weakness for the Cubs and I can source an O-320 engine. I knew of a beat up set of cowls and Baz has a bearer frame in 'used' condition.
Anyway either common sense prevailed, or I woke-up, but the end result is the same. Some other poor unfortunate now has it on his hands.
Perhaps we can do a poll of members here with aircraft wrecks (projects) to spend money on. I realise a few even have machines that still work also.
I still have a feeling it is part of some sinister plan... the Auster gaggle is ganging up us I tell you.

Yes another forum member has fallen prey to the "illness"! ;D Kevin there was a J5G with an O-320 I flew in a number of years ago (I bought his "retired" O-320 for my Auster MK V back in 1983/84) she looked quite smart too. Nanoseconds eh? Must be that Air Force training again! All I will say is this Auster is heading across Cook Strait

Nanoseconds is fine Baz....better than no seconds. I feel that is an indicator that he is coming over to our way of thinking, meh heh heh Guilty as charged, Anthony. Crossing the strait we hear, hmmmm. has someone been believing that the Auster mover is undergoing a transformation ? Doing more on the brakes today, actually refitting them after rework so it is coming together quickly. I have a small compressor pump sitting in Lower Hutt to be brought back to ChCh if people are moving about the countryside. The 'chappie' that 'sold' me 'his' trailer (The first one) on Trademe is in court tomorrow. Just a status hearing. I am still waiting for my money to be returned to me.... The rebuilt Auster mover is now about 4.8 metres deck length with 2 metres rear overhang possible. About 7 metres which will cover most small aircraft. Inside the guards is now 1915mm, - this is not a small trailer !

Wow, nice work on the trailer. I could hardly recognise it! As Baz would say..."Gee nice Deck!"

Don't weaken Raymond.... a few nanoseconds got me back into the real world.
Any thought beyond that could be dangerous, - an aircraft is just a way of helping getting rid of any surplus money you may have laying about.

Congrats Ray on your purchase. I can vouch the fuselage is very nicely restored.
