Nice to see a picture of the FD.2, surely one of the best looking jets to have emerged from Great Britain. I'm sure I read somewhere once that it inspired the French design of the original Dassault Mirage.

Yes some great photos, man they certainly have the aircraft in some dramatic poses, love the vertical Lightning!

Terrific photographs. Nice to see the Nimrod R.1; for many years to get that close would have led to a member of the public being arrested or shot. The RAF refused to acknowledge the existence of 51 Sqn that operated them because of the sensitive nature of their missions, although spotters camped outside RAF Waddington's gates regularly took piccies of them. A few years back they had one at an RIAT airshow and it was the first time one had made a public appearance at a British airshow.

These pics bring it all back for me. Was lucky to be there for the Cosford Air Show back in 2007, shortly after that fantastic Cold War exhibition had opened. They had a bunch of Jags that had not long been withdrawn and you could go and watch one up on jacks demonstrating gear retractions, and another demo was dropping a power plant out.
There were stacks and stacks of them parked outside in a pan down the back.
Would love to go back one last time.
Thanks for sharing your neat pics.

What is this aircraft? It's not the Fairey Delta 2. I copied it from below the TSR2.

Bristol 188 - Mach 2+ Kinetic heating research aircraft - made out of stainless steel. The airbrakes look very cool!
