Just a brief update - for various reasons the owners have decided they are definitely keen to sell this Hudson fuselage-section/caravan and welcome inquiries through me, wally_hicks@yahoo.co.nz Cheers Wally.

Wally, check your emails. I hope we may be able to work out a deal if the price is right.
Don Subritzky phoned to tell me that he's very keen to see this Hudson preserved, and he has made the suggestion to me that he would be willing to contribute a little money towards the cost of buying it if others on the forum also put up some money in a special forum project fund to SAVE THE HUDSON. If we can raise the money to purchase this Hudson caravan Don is willing to house it within his significant collection on behalf of the forum. And maybe down the track if we continue to raise funds it can be restored to fuselage status.
This is the plan, it sounds very feasible, and I think achieveable if enough people get involved and can contribute money and perhaps time to the cause.
What do you all think? Are you keen to get involved in a Forum Hudson project? I have emailed Wally to ask exactly how much is being asked by the current owner.

I'd be happy to put a few dollars into that.

That's quite a cool find. Happy to also help put a few dollars into ensuring that she gets a good home.

Cool. We need to find out how much is required first, but it's good to see people are keen to help.

Provided it stays "in country" I am happy to throw in $100.

I think there may be a spanner in the works on this idea, a previous bidder has beaten us to it perhaps. We'll await Wally's announcement.

Having never received an update I thank a valid question would be "where's Wally?"

Wally got married, and left aviation interests behind at that point.

Wally got married, and left aviation interests behind at that point. The two often go hand in hand... Oh well hopefully some news of what eventuated with the caravan will come to light one day.

Wally's email is there under each of his posts, if you want to email him directly and see what he knows.
I am trying to recall though, is this the Hudson caravan that was bought by a Forum Member and taken to Ardmore to be restored? Or was that another one?

Like trying to get info from a dentist, you have to pull all the teeth. Aviation has permanent desire not to let go any info. I red a few posts a few mouths ago the person wouldn't release any info, on a promise. The sad thing is the promise was made to a dead person. It is OK to share info, you will not go to prison and if lucky, maybe collect your $200. If you or anyone has any info on abandoned, stored, damaged, for sale airframes(good or damaged), don't be afraid, I definitely don't bite. It is amazing the number of "secret" aircraft out there, that people for some reason don't want to share info. PS, I have tried wally and no reply to ant attempt to contact.
