Can anyone please confirm if the late Geoff Ariell ever served in the RNZAF?
I was told that he did serve in the Air Force by my late friend Maude Walker, who was usually very accurate with her local history and who'd been a neighbour of Geoff. But I have not yet turned up any hard facts on this, only that he was in the Army.

His Army number was 391589 (Armoured Brigade serial number). But was he in the RNZAF later, as Maude thought? If yes, what was his service number, trade and other details? Any clues welcome please.
