I just saw on Hyperscale that the Red Bull BD-5J has crashed in Austria and the pilot was killed. I did a Google News search and there seems to be reports in Austrian but nothing in English. This is from Hyperscale: www.network54.com/Forum/149674/message/1367475920/Sad+News%2C+the+Red+Bull+DB-5J+has+crashed+in+AustriaToday the newspaper brought the story that the Red Bull BD-5J has crash landed, killing the pilot. According to the news the pilot reported technical problems and everything was prepared for an emergency landing at the airport in Innsbruck, the police even closed down the Autobahn just in case but the pilot never made it. He crashed landed the small aircraft in a field, damaging a parked and fortunately unoccupied car. The aircraft did not catch fire on impact but according to the news the pilot was killed instantly.

Sad news. Red Bull own the BD-5J which appeared at the 1992 Auckland Air Expo, I wonder if this was the same aircraft?

N53EJ, sound like the same machine. Find Aviation Safety Net, it has the registrations posted before you know there has been an accident.

It was also James Bond's aircraft.
