I just read on Facebook that US warbird collector Doug Champlin, of the Champlin Air Museum fame, has passed away. Sad news. RIP

That is sad news, blue skies Mr Champlin. I believe it's thanks to him the Fw-190D now with Paul Allen is in such good condition, and indeed in existence at all...not to mention several other aircraft which were in his collection.
