I have a problem with a photo which could be of interest to members of this forum who served at Wigram in 1982. The problem is that the photo is A3 size and my scanner takes only A4. I thought of reducing it on a zerox BUT some of the detail could be lost. Or cutting it in half (NO) or folding in half. Any ideas please. images.proboards.com/v5/images/smiley/cheesy.pngOn a different tack I am finding the new forum set-up fantastic.

I have this problem all the time, with A3 and larger documents. My solution is to use a free bit of software from Microsoft, called ICE (Image Composite Editor). research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/groups/ivm/ice/Just scan in the document in several pieces and the software stiches it all back. Its the best one I have found.

I've photographed large documents with variable success but generally take larger things into a printers premises where hey generally have a large flatbed scanner! I did Dads logbook that way... and they did it for free when they realised what it was!!

I have copied A3 size photos by scanning them on an A4 scanner an then joining them with Photoshop. It sounds similar to the one that 'aircraftclocks' uses. If you need any info on this and have Photoshop, I can give you the info.
