Hello, is anybody from here going to RIAT? I am travelling to UK this weekend and will be at the show. Hope to get a few good amateur pictures of the Vulcan and VC-10!

Please report back with your comments on the show, the Pimms Flightdeck is a well priced viewing spot to get some good piccies.

I'm leaving Wednesday for Duxford Riat and Oshkosh... should be an awesome trip. Lots of SD cards purchased for the camera!

You should enjoy this airshow. I was lucky to be there in 2012 and it has been the best airshow I had ever attended. Can recommend the Pimms enclosure too as it is far less crowded and with the prevailing wind near the touch down area which I prefer for photography.

I'll be going Saturday (last minute decision as the weather in the UK at the moment is 30c and Sunny as.) RIAT has come in for some stic this year on the UK forums as they appear to changed tack after last year's very successful show. More Funfairs less aircraft
To be fair though, the loss of all of the US contingent with sequestration has been a major blow. 2 or 3 U2's have arrived at Fairford today but they don't usually stay round for more than a day and the web is buzzing with rumours of Canberra PR9 XH134 arriving on Friday afternoon. Nothing official as yet as it hasn't flown following it's restoration at Kemble. It's never there till it's over the keys when it comes to RIAT. Enjoy the show.

Thanks for that pat will book my ticket now. I'm just going the Saturday. The weather over here has been really warm, which makes for good sites walking around London during the day ;-)

I can't wait to see the Vulcan, I read this year is the last year it will be flown.

Is anyone else staying around bath or Bristol over the weekend? I didn't manage to spot Bruce at flying legends, maybe a forum RIAT meet is in order?

I'll be at RIAT on the Sunday. Since I'll be coming from my cousins place in Herefordshire, I guess I'll be using the green carpark ( RIAT colour codes the car parks and segregates arrival routes based on the direction of origin). look out for an SAA shirt or the Avian Adventurer Shirt! hopefully the blisters I got on the soles of my feet from standing at Duxford will have healed! Pommy air show crowds seem to like bringing wind breaks (the kind of thing they also use sitting on their beaches) to block out large sections of crowd line, so you have to spend a lot of time standing at the back....

Had a great day out, my favourite display was the Swedish air force Gripen. He came out of a 9 G turn, vapour pouring off the wing and went full noise down the flight line. The acceleration was crazy, never seen anything like it!
As expected the Vulcan was crazy loud and put on a good show!

Hmmm - that was a very short taster... had to go hunting for last year's vids!! Watched the 2012 Vulcan display - noisy beast!

The A400M put on the best display in my opinion, the thing was being chucked around like a fighter jet. Did anyone get any video of it it was simply amazing!
