Very nice; that Airco DH.9 is quite rare (or is it a reproduction?). Good to see the relatively unsung Pfalz D XII on display too.

The Airco DH9 G-EAQM is original, and has a history.
It was the aircraft that Ray Parer and John McIntosh used as their entrant in a bid to win the kudos of being the first to fly from the UK to Australia in early 1920. The competition was, of course, won by Ross and Keith Smith in their Vickers Vimy. Parer's DH9 was sponsored by Peter Dawson whiskey - hence the 'P.D."
Parer did win the dubious honour of taking the longest time to complete the trip of all of the successful entrants - 206 days.
The aircraft spent many years in the custody of Parer's old secondary school before passing into the AWM museum.

Thanks Peter, There are very few complete original D.H.9s around, one at IWM Duxford, one at Le Bourget, what can only be described as a mock up incorporating original parts in India and that one, so that makes it quite special.
