I read something earlier this year aout something similar. Don't think it has the chainsaw engine anymore. They might be using batteries & solar power cells.

That is very clever and amazing... doing everything by balance and timing and feel, quite a sophisticated computer "brain" to manage those situations. Laughed when I saw it gallop and jump...

It is and what impressed me the most was its recovery on the ice. It makes a heck of a lot of sense because it'll basically be able to go most places soldiers can. It will be able to carry heaps of gear in and out plus it could be used as a weapons platform e.g., 81 / 120mm mortar, .50cal HMG etc., something that at present basically needs to be broken down and humped by a crew or carried on a vehicle. Maybe one day a Star Wars Imperial Storm Troopers type walker It is impressive technology and the first units will be very expensive, but I can see a lot of non military applications for it such as fully mobilised articial walkers for paraplegics etc. I wish I could remember where I read the article mentioned. Only really noted it in passing and didn't keep a record of it. Bugger.

Well done America, they have no money left but have spent millions of dollars to reinvent the mule.

A real mule costs less to run and maintain.

Reminds me of this link that was sent to me recently. Some amazing technology available and what it will look like or do in the near future.

A real mule costs less to run and maintain. Yep but its stubborn and you have to cart its fodder and water into the field, clean up after it and if you are covert you also have to hide its crap every time it has one and keep the things quiet.

I think the actual problem is all the real ones have been promoted onto the General Staff

Oh your post beat me Dave - good laugh!
The real issue is the real mule will stop when it wants to and run when and where it wants to... try getting it to go through a fire to take tools, clothing, weapons and food to someone trapped the other side of flames etc...
