Hi all I hope Wellington does not shake rattle and roll tomorrow and is sunny weather?? As I am in Wellington with my Father(84)I will be his minder so to speak, for the day who was in Korea with the RNZN. They have a full day planned out for us and the rest of the people that are coming from all over the country for this Anniversary. There will be a wreath laying Ceremony/Commemorative Service. Followed by a Luncheon.
This should be a great day for the Veterans to be able to catch up and talk about the old days.

Make sure he gets his tot. If for reasons medical he can't partake, you being his son will have to have it instead in his honour of course Hope he has a good day and a good run ashore.

Hey thanks for that yes they all had a great day. They came from all over NZ, we left AKL on a 7am flight for Wellington. It was great being on board the aircraft when the Pilot and crew acknowledged all the vetereans on the flight down. The ceremony went very well with lots of stories being told at the luncheon, plenty of booze to go around but no tots (bugger even I was looking forward to that if it came up....) The event was run to typical military precision.( believe it or not)...
When we boarded to aircraft home again the flight crew acknowledge the veterans but this time eveybody else on board clapped and cheered.
My word have atitudes changed towards our fine veterans over the years...
Lest We Forget.
