Had a couple of days in Paris, and one of my favorite spots is the Musee de L'Air out at Le Bourget - a really great aviation musuem - which I think there is a thread or two covering it. Suffice to say, while the 'better half' is of at some art museum, jump on the Metro and head out there - just great. A couple of the other treasures are on the other side of the airfield -the Musee Restoration Hangars and Reserve collection. Good friendly bunch who are happy to show you around if you're a serious aircraft sort of person - they have their work to do of course, but gladly make time. www.museeairespace.fr/ateliers-reserves/Also next to the Restoration Hangars is the Memorial Flight who are group of volunteers who build flying aircraft - and typically fly them down at La Ferte Alais south of Paris memorial.flight.free.fr/ . Some of the guys work during the week for the Museum and then volunteer all weekend at the Memorial Flight:) ...anyway some photos. Three of the Memorial Flight guys in front of the Swedish J22 they have ( similar in some ways to a Boomerang ) An Aviatek & Bleriot coming together A couple of Albatros and the Museums original LVG ..have many others if interested. Cheers Hvd1041

Wonderful stuff. Is that BE2f genuine or a really nice replica?
I recall back in 2007 at the Classic Fighters airshow Dave McDonald introduced me to a chap from this museum, and it turned out he regularly reads this forum, which stunned me at the time. It was my first realisation of how global WONZ had become, and it was quite a thrill. I wonder if he still reads here. Sadly I have forgotten his name.

On the 2oth/21st September, the Memorial Workshop at Le Bourget will have Open Days. Buses will run from the main museum. Check out this thread to see what was going on a year ago.
