Maybe this is the Doodlebug that ended up in the Auckland War Memorial Museum?

I figured the same thing, since there's just one in NZ. I wonder what the actual history of that V-1 coming to NZ is, and if it was in the ownership of Auckland War Memorial at the time of this photo at the airshow?

That would be before the Swastika was painted in the engine cowl and it was given the ugly blotchy colour scheme it wears now, then. It was offered to the museum by the Government Stores Board in 1955 and was painted in its current scheme when the museum recieved it. Not sure who had it before then; RNZAF or army possibly?
Caption competition? "Curious spectators crowd around a Fieseler Fi 103 Kirschkern (Cherrystone) cruise missile, more familiar to the public as the V 1 Flying Bomb or Doodle Bug at the RNZAC Pageant at Mangere Aerodrome in 1949. The Fi 103 is now on display at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. (Whites Aviation photo)"

I have a feeling this V-1 was in the hangar with the Zero at the RNZAF's 21st Anniversary airshow at Ohakea, wasn't it? Perhaps it belonged to an RNZAF Technical Training School?
Nice caption but I was actually looking for humourous takes on it. Such as, "When Harry said his old bomb only just made it to the car park, he really meant it."

Yes, I know Dave... I contacted the museum once about its provenance and the individual I dealt with said they did not have any information about it prior to it arriving at the museum; I was interested in finding out when it arrived in New Zealand and where in Europe it was acquired from, but no luck. It most likely was the one at Ohakea.

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure my Father has a photo of this and the Zero out at Hobsonville?? Taken on his box brownie, will have to try and see if I can get a copy next time I catch up with him. I think it would have been around early to mid 1950's.
