In todays Dom-Post there was a story about stuff left in houses at Avonhead, Christchurch. One was an aeroplane. A half built aircraft of wood similar to, say a Piper Cub but smaller and made of wood.
Any ideas?

I thought they said Avonside on the TV 1 item about that stuff?

There was an Emmeraude in the Eco Shop in ChCh until a few weeks ago. That is where much of this unclaimed stuff is turning up. Fuselage was wooden and partially covered. It was reasonably complete with wings and plans. $3000 approx I recall.

I've changed the title. The aircraft is a high wing monoplane.

I didn't see either article but I did walk past that Emmeraude on many occasions. It must have been there for weeks.
I didn't see anything on the high wing aircraft so it would appear that two at least have been abandoned in recent weeks.
It is either telling us that the people in ChCh have more money than they know what to do with, - or the value of an aircraft in this day and age.
Something is killing GA off, and it is not nice.

The one I saw on tele last night looked to be a scale Microlight cub replica (probably an LMA cub) rather than the full size one Otamatea are building. It's probably similar to the somewhat dilapidated scale cub my aircraft shares a hangar with at Te Kowhai.
