After lurking for some time, I thought I best register and share some of my work with you - so, hello from sunny Wellington!
Some time ago I visited Luke AFB (AZ) for a week while working on an article for Pacific Wings and the 56th Fighter Wing had been so kind to allow me to join a training flight with the 310th Fighter Squadron "Top Hats".
After splitting off from the main formation, our 2-ship went off on our own and we visited some of the great landmarks in Arizona such as the Grand Canyon, Sedona and the Meteor Crater.
The "boss jet", marked with "310 FS" is flown by Lt. Col. Jon "PRESS" Wheeler, the Top Hats Squadron Commander ("Top Hat 1"). Our F-16D is flown by Lt. Col. Matt "TOOMA" Liljenstolpe, Squadron Commander of the 56th Training Squadron.
For those of you who subscribe to Pacific Wings, you may have seen some of these images in the May 2013 issue - in the "Into the Vipers Nest" feature article.
I will try to post some more images later on, particularly those that were not in the magazine.
