Hallett Griffin and I are trying to track down any Logbooks of Ag Pilots, especially from the early days. We both feel it is so important to find and keep or copy these books. I have processed a heap of pages from Bob Allen's logbooks, particularly as he flew Hallett's Beaver AZB from 1953-1955 and got his rating in Jim Frogley's BBX. Noel Marshall was the Chief Pilot and flew AZB from new then moved on to BBX when it was new, hence Bob taking over AZB. I had made contact with Noel Marshall's wife in Hamilton in 2010 but have been unsuccessful in contacting her since Noel's death not long after.
I know that Ian "Haggis" MacPherson's son was on this forum, we would be very interested in seeing and copying his logbooks. Also Gerry Oman who was with Fieldair in the early 50's.
If anyone has associations with pilots willing to share their logbooks with us, please let either Hallett or myself know.
Cheers, Graeme

Gerry Oman is a name I haven't heard for a long time. He was lost in around 1963/4 when the wing came off his Beaver in the New England area of NSW.

I loaded for Gerry Oman in 1962 when he was flying DC3s for Airland NZ Ltd. This was at Ardmore, Hamilton, Tauranga, Matamata and Galatea.

Dave, wouldn't mind having a look through your logbooks from your DC3 days if you don't mind. The only PPL to be rated on the type is somewhat special.
