Hi All Yes as an ex-Nav my hand-eye co-ord is very poor, and so is my model making techniques. I would like to see the price range/costs for getting someone to do the dirty work for me. My Tornado F3 is still totally incomplete in it's box. I think I painted a little grey on some of the big bits. My Fulmar (Grandad's plane) is totally untouched. This guy (http://haggismodels.blogspot.co.nz/) was a RN pilot on exchange with the F3 on my OCU course, he's pretty good at modelling. Kindly he offered to do one for me but getting it from the UK would be problematic. So I thought I would ask around, I have no idea as to what peeps charge, or if such services are available here. Google failed me so, help me WoNZ, you're my only hope MP Oh the models I have here in my shed are: Airfix Panavia Tornado F3/EF3 1/48 and Eduard Fairey Fulmar MkII 1/48

Mate don't forget the diecast option, Corgi do a pretty decent F3 in 1:72 I haven't built a kit in years for the same reasons as yourself, dodgy coordination, the trembles bought on by too much cheap Port & not enough time so using these excuses I've amassed quite a big collection of diecast in many scales Not my model, not gotten around to buying an F3 but I have a swag of GR3's & 4's (yes, sacrilege I know!)

Wally (dewobz) advertised commission building on the forum thread a while ago, might be worth asking if he can leave the 1940s for a while and go supersonic for you.

Thanks for the replies. 11SQNLDR, yeah I have a diecast model thanks, and it's 43 not one hundred and eleven sqn (spit!) Even a quasi-lego that is an F3/GR hybrid thing. And I will send out some PMs/reply to some thanks.

Hi muchpants, I am certainly interested in both builds so feel free to PM or email me (see signature below) The Tornado would be a departure for me but I have recently departed into Armour with some considerable success (which I will post in Army & Navy asap). I hope to hear from you. Regards, Wally.

Hey Wally, and others, thanks for the replies. Sadly I just got hit for a grand bill on our people mover so model work will have to wait. But I'll bookmark this thread and/or start another when the cash is spare again. That F3 is a beauty. There (was?) a phantom in the same colours at Leuchars too. Sadly the RAF's best air base is going to the army. What will the people of St Andrews think when a bunch of squaddies turn up! I'd be happy with an 11(F) Sqn too, that was my last Sqn.

I think I read there is a Lightening (F3?)which was a squadron mascot which is at risk of being scrapped at Leuchars now the RAF have moved on. Apparently it is a fairly rare mark so would be nice to save it. Yeah I hear you about car repair bills, I got one of those to pay...............more Auster money up in smoke! Mind you i probably do need brakes that work well eh?

Like the French park their cars in Paris! Just looked up ZG757 in my log book, did a few fun things in it, along with the normal stuff. Practise QRA launch very near to Xmas one year. A2A gunnery in Cyprus, and it got me home. Took me to Gib for a Queen's Birthday flypast, notable for doing a 666 pass of the tower (over 600kts, under 60' and 67 wing ). However it failed to get us back from that and I came back FlyBMI or some such, when an engine died on climb out.
