Correct sir, good spotting: It is indeed a Fairy Battle, one of four of the type world-wide and is specifically N2188 (an RAF serial as you will no doubt be aware) which curiously was never allocated an RAAF serial number before crashing into Mangroves in 1943. The RAAF used it for aircrew training.
