There have been several posts made to the forum in recent weeks which simply read as a whole lot of letters and symbols with no meaning in the English language. Each time I see one I remove it. These, I believe, are spam posts generated from a computer that uses foreign language characters, most probably Chinese or another Asian language. They don't appear as those characters on the forum because we use English text, so the computer transcribes it into random text.
There was one this morning that caused some chat among members. I have removed the thread as I always do, as they are litter on the pavement of our forum. Apologies to the members who posted and had their posts removed.
Bruce mentioned some people have too much time. I suspect it's not a person doing it, but a computer. Did you kinow now there are now more computers using the Internet than there are people! I heard that on National Radio.
I am also now receiving spam emails in Chinese which I find more annoying and offensive than the American spam emails I get. Probably trying to sell dodgy medicines just like the Yanks. Does anyone ever reply to Spam and buy the products? I'd doubt it. So why do they bother.

Apparently most spam is sent out in such huge numbers on the theory that if only a miniscle number of people reply to purchase whichever crap the spammer's selling, they still make a killing out of it.
