Wow, I just saw this on Facebook here www.facebook.com/pages/UK-Air-Shows/133877260116679?fref=photo:UK AIR SHOW NEWS: Bristol Blenheim Mk.I L6739 (G-BPIV) is down to display at the Duxford Air Show on the 13th and the 14th September 2014... G-BPIV has been undergoing an extensive restoration since 2003 and has only just appeared in public in May 2014... It will be great to have another great warbird back on the flying display circuit as there has been one missing for nearly 12 years... #BlenheimBackToFlight #UKAirShows #DuxfordAirShow2014 Photo courtesy of David Whitworth, Global Aviation Resource

They ran it up after the Flying Legends show. Very impressive indeed. Three VC winners on Blenheims and one in particular in the Mk.1. Google the single handed raid on Singora for a story of unbelieveable courage.

And of interest to this forum specifically, one of the most successful Blenheim night fighter pilots was a Kiwi, Plt Off Mike Herrick. Another Kiwi Blenheim pilot of note was Plt Off E.H. Sam McHardie, although he flew Blenheim IVs I think.

Also kiwi pilot Alan Gawith flew Bristol Blenheim night fighters with No. 23 Squadron in the Battle of Britain. Were they Mk I's or Mk IV's?

That'll be Eric Hartgill McHard y, a Kiwi who joined the RAF on a short service commission in 1939. I didn't know he was called Sam, though. When with 404 Sqn, RCAF, he would have been flying the Blenheim IVF. Errol

Mk.IF, to be strictly correct. Yes I know, I should get out more (in fact getting my coat to do so in 15mins time!). Errol

Well done Errol. The 1F had the gun pack underneath but was basically unchanged? Oh and radar.

Rather than try the above, go to the Key Publishing web forum and then find the posting. It's a bunch of photos but very nice in the setting murk.

Won't help, as the issue is his employer blocking Flickr, where the photos are hosted.
