I was able to arrange a visit to the Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby last month and given a tour by the OC S/L Duncan Mason.

They awere gearing up for the season and especially the arrival of the Canadian Lancaster.

In the ops room I met Kiwi Pilot Officer Dave Turnbull from Waiheke who had secured direct entry into the RAF and was on a transition posting with the flight before moving to Scampton and the Red Arrows. Lucky devil.

Coningsby was busy with Typhoon and Tornado flights, the sound was delicious.

They have a good official facebook page - www.facebook.com/BBMF.Official?fref=ts with quite a bit of the hangar activity posted here and there. A cousin (4th!) is one of the team and posts up some gems on the group.

Looked like a great day at the BBMF!
