I went to Te Papa yesterday and looked at the Army display. Out the front, there was an LAV111, and out the back they had a M113 APC, a Pinzgauer truck and a Scorpion Tank. What was of note was that the APC was decked out in white UN colours with anti-RPG armour fitted. Anyway, there were soldiers of which several I talked to about the displays. They were very polite and more than willing to engage in conversation (to me and the public also). Excellent stuff Well done, NZ Army Cheers TNZ

Did you get any photos Chris?
What's a Pinzgauer truck? I know of the Unimogs and the larger Mercedes trucks the army has. Not heard of a Pinzgauer though. Are they new?
Great to hear we still have Scorpions too, I thought they were being phased out. I think the Territorials should get all the Scorpions and M113's when their replacement LAV's take over.

No sorry Dave didn't get any pics, it was more of a "what shall I do at lunchtime" thing. Wish I had though A Pinzgauer is the latest light operation truck to replace the aging Landies. Look quite neat too army.mil.nz/?CHANNEL=Equipment&PAGE=Pinzgauer+Light+Operational+VehicleThe Scorpion was a hard-case machine. One of the guys there was telling me that they recently entered it into a 4WD meeting in Auckland and it blitzed most of the 4WD vehicles !!!! Cheers Chris
