A few weeks ago I was invited to Palm Beach to celebrate the 50th birthday of Sea Wing Airways Beaver VH-SWB. This is ex Fieldair's ZK-CKD c/n 1557 and has clocked up over 12,000 hours on floats since arriving in Oz in May 1996. Bill Luther flew CKD from 1972-79 out of Gisborne before he went on to DC3's and he and wife Anne made the trip across the Tasman to also be part of the proceedings. We ended up at a restaurant at Manly after spending the day at Palm Beach late in July. I went back last weekend to get some decent photos. More on my website www.kiwibeavers.com/ZK-CKD.html
