Common? Tall tail. It was found that during a go around the corsairs already large rudder was incapable of countering the massive amounts of torque produced by the new engine. Tall tail... The vertical gained about 14 inches and about 2-3 feet of vertical surface area. The extra height/surface is helpful in certain flight regimes where the canopy can blank out most of the verticals effectiveness.

ME 209 II & TA 152 also. Bearcat had a fairly high tail, wonder if it was substantially higher than Hellcats?
