That is one name that will always stick over your way I guess!! Not sure how busy I will be with the camera, actually want to slow down on that front and enjoy the event a bit more. Did that in the UK and am much better for it :-) We are also looking at the possibility of getting a bunch of books sent over for the airshow, just depends on whether we can get them there in time as time is getting tight!

Gav, Hope that you are going to continue to amaze and delight us with your pics. As far as I am concerned it is you and John Dibbs on the top of the photography pile. Understand what you mean about putting the camera down. Nice to see it not through a lens. Are you selling the books through the Museum shop or separately? Australian Warbirds shall have a merchandising tent at the show so that may be another outlet/possibility. Looking forward to seeing you when you arrive.

Will definitely take a good number of photos on the actual show day but in the lead up I will slow down a bit and just enjoy the place and people as that is what Warbirds are all about. The museum guys are selling it, a good fund raiser for them as several of their aeroplanes are in it, just have to see if we can get the books there on time.

Even though I'm nowhere near the photog you are Gavin, I've found airshows a lot more enjoyable - and memorable - since I stopped trying to "document" and instead stick to the occasional snapshot.
Have an awesome time, everyone!

Hi All - just wondering if anyone knows/has any spare Silver pass tickets for the show? I left it too late to purchase them as having been trying to get accommodation (which I have finally got) - Not the end of the world of course, I dont' mind just walking around with the camera in hand but... I like the idea of the parking close to the venue.
Gavin - you going to be up in the Huey again this year to get the crowd shot?

Not sure what I will end up doing this year, the boss asked me to go on that flight last time but the Huey is not flying at the moment. Was great to go for a fly in that.

Wow, all I can say is wow. I set off today thinking we were driving to Temora but after we stopped in at Albury to interview Steve Death, he very kindly offered to fly me up the rest of the way as he was heading up in the Harvard. What an experience! My first ever Harvard ride over amazing Aussie countryside and landing at the great airfield and seeing all the aircraft lined up. Amazing!! Steve, being one of the Hudson's pilots, then gave me a guided tour. Just fantastic!! The 38C temp was harsh but bearable. It's meant to be hotter and windy tomorrow.

Well that ticked a few boxes Dave! In 2013 I was grateful that I was in the back row of the Gold Pass stand, with a noticeable breeze. Made the apparent temp more reasonable.

That's awesome to hear of your Harvard flight Dave! What an experience, especially with Steve as the pilot.

Dave, Glad you caught up with Keith. Merv Thornton, who was the last person to load for me met up with Keith and Steve when he was working for Col Pay. He had a lot of time for them both as well as David Reid.
