I have the following current fleet list of fixed-wing for Aerowork:
FU-24: CMK DDX DZN EGK EML EUH
C185: LJG
Cresco: LTB LTH LTJ LTK LTL LTN LTR LTS LTV LTW LTY LTZ
In my trip down country last week I found Crescos ZK-LTJ and ZK-LTL which were based at Wanganui, together with Fu-24 ZK-EGK (still in Wanganui Aero Work colours) stored there. One Cresco, unidentifiable, inside their large green shed at Te Kuiti. The fellows at Stratford airfield told me that Aerowork no longer base an aircraft there.
So where are all the others operating from these days?

CMK and EUH are stored. DZN may still be in Napier in bits as a possible rebuild. EML , a Walter at Omaka and DDX, a Crusader at Nelson. EGK is used for training and was flying last week.
LTV was the Cresco at Te Kuiti and currently LTN is based at Stratford.

What do they use the 185 for?

I asked about DZN when I worked there and no-one had any idea, other than what delticman suggested.

LTB is based in Canterbury (Rangiora I believe). They also have Crescos based in Hunterville and Taihape. Must be a Cresco or two at Taumarunui too as Taumarunui Aerial Co-op was taken over by WAW / Ravensdown. Masterton, Pahiatua, Dannevirke and Raetihi were also previous Wanganui Aero Work Bases, so likely have aircraft still based there. Although Raetihi may only be a helo base?

No Cresco at Hunterville, Dannevirke, Pahiatua or Raetihi.

I checked out Dannivirke (nothing,) Pahiatua (only Rural's Air Tractor JHG and Gippsland G200C EMD), Masterton (only Superair Fu-24), Foxpine (nothing), Fielding (Air Tractor RMW), New Plymouth (nothing), Raetihi (two Aerowork helos), Kairanga (Hallett's collection) and Stratford (nothing). Did not get to Hunterville or Taumarunui.
There's got to be a great pile of them somewhere!

Cresco's are notoriously reclusive birds, they generally leave their roosting sites before dawn and often don't return until after dark.During the day they tend to disperse to remote small strips of flatland in the hill country.Occassional sightings are made after spotting a long trail of dust in the sky.For keen spotters they are sometimes found at their roosting sites on wet windy days, ocassional sightings are also sometimes made at maintenance sites, where generally only the tail is visible.Other sightings are sometimes recorded at Rukuhia when the Cresco's ocassionally migrate home to the nest site where they were originally hatched.

Don't Ravensdown have a Fatman as well? I remember being surprised to see it at home base when I went for a visit - or has this moved on?

Cresco's are notoriously reclusive birds, they generally leave their roosting sites before dawn and often don't return until after dark. Generally, however, they leave their droppings and nesting evidence at home base. Spare loaders, spray gear and company sign boards are invariably left lying around. While I was looking around last week, howling winds and driving rain for most of the time would have deterred actual flight. Don't Ravensdown have a Fatman as well? I remember being surprised to see it at home base when I went for a visit - or has this moved on? Aerowork had Fatman ZK-DMC/2 from March 2012 to June 2014. It has now gone to Murray Hargreaves at Maungaturoto.

Ah. Thanks for that. I was a bit miffed to see a nice new(ish) aeroplane there considering I was laid off during bad financial times for the firm...I think that was silly of me, given it was two years later!

One of the Cresco's is currently been repainted by Fieldair in Palmerston North. Sadly I didn't find out what the rego of the aircraft is.

Yes, I paseed thru Hood yet again this last weekend, and there were a couple of Aerowork loaders parked outside their locked hangar. Missed it in the foul weather last time. Any ID?

I heard a noisy turbo prop come low over home this morning at 6:45am heading straight for the airstrip - that's twice now! Coming from north - northwest direction - Hamilton? Matamata? Te Awamutu? Which ones are still operating in Waikato? or is it from Wanganui and travelling and based up here temporarily?
