Here is an extract from NZ Wings magazine dated August 1975 - with all the amazing changes in the Warbird and museums world since then, this proves times don't actually change too much... Lets see, well, the Ryan is flying... The Avenger is only just about to undergo restoration soon... The Hind is one of the four held by and that are being restored to fly by the Subritzkys... The Catalina is still just a fuselage, now at Wigram, possibly never to be finished ... And the Mossie finally got it's wings on this year The same magazine issue has an article and photos of the P39, P40's and Beaufort that were just then brought back from PNG for restoration in NZ by Charles Darby. After all these years, the P39 now flies at Duxford with the TFC after returning to the air in 2004. The P40's formed the basis of what is now Pioneer and several are flying or under rebuild. And the Beaufort is being restored to soon fly again in Aussie. Good things take time
