I wonder whether those dual wheels are as per the original Air NZ Mod done for James Aviation on CTZ back in about 1966? Or are they an existing approved PAC Mod or local Phoenix Mod?

It's the first 400HP Fletcher done by Aerosmith P/L (A/3) at Bankstown. First flight July 1969. There was a number of problems and Pays Air Service bought it and converted to their mod (A/4) in September 1970. It returned to NZ in 1971 and sold to Samoa as 5W-FAJ

Another of Neil's collection. This time CPW. Pick the difference with the loader in the background, GMC with duals on the steering wheels. Must have been fun turning with a load in the bucket!

VH-EPZ "There were a number of problems....." I have no knowledge of the list but I would not be surprised to learn of their difficulties in keeping the IO-720 A1A engine in good tune. I have reported elsewhere on some of the many problems with the Bendix S700 Series magnetos that were fitted to the IO-720 A1A

Regarding VH-EPZ, the engine was the easy bit.
