100th Anniversary of ANZAC, 75th Anniversary of Battle of Britain, 70th Anniversary of the end of WW.II, 50th Anniversary of death of Winston Churchill (won't get involved in any discussions about that).... now tell me that if you were going to pick a year to be in the UK for airshows why it should not be 2015?

The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain could be celebrated amazingly nowadays with the many Spitfire Mk I's and II's, the many Hurricanes, the two Gladiators, and the Bristol Blenheim in a special balbo formation, not to mention the Buchons too.

I am not on the tour but they are organising our 8 week travel connections and my wife and I will connect with their tour at Duxford and Fairford too the following weekend. Plus a day trip to Hendon into London. Their tour is 22 days or something. Brief but very full and all transport and accommodation and most meals all sorted.

Here's hoping the Lancaster PA474 gets up and running again in time too, but you indicate she's not listed. Was going to visit BBMF at RAF Coningsby anyway

Have been in UK for 3 weeks and seen PA474 and she is still under repairs after the engine fire which damaged various frame pieces for rear engine mounts on the starboard outer engine. She will hopefully be in the air around September. Various BBMF Spitfire and Hurricanes were parked ready to join in the throng this weekend. We arrived at our hotel at 4:45 this afternoon from York and Elvington on Wednesday to see Andre in his Handley Page Victor checking electric things out. I was privileged to visit the cockpit and enjoy the confines of the last of the V-Bombers. Very impressive!! Perhaps the rest of the NZ Tour group has arrived ... better head downstairs for fluid replenishment
