Had a few days in Seattle for a break between the crazy days and managed to convince the 4 year old that this would be a better thing to do than a 2 minute ride on the mono-rail (he is train crazy). Unfortunately the 2 year old didn't last through the visit, so wifey didn't get to see everything, so she wants to come back without the kids so that we can take our time and see all the aircraft properly Sorry about the photo quality, I only had a point and shoot, not the DSLR. B-25J. Has the Norden bombsite in it, but can't be used because of the extra machine gun in the nose. Guide said it was a weird set up, but authentic to the aircraft. Only BMW powered 190 in the world. Fw190A5. I'm sure a lot of us have seen this Rata flying in NZ. Only one pilot up here will fly it, the rest are scared of it evidently! Fw190D13. Pretty much airworthy, but they won't fly it due to it's rarity. I would love to see this thing fly! They do run it up at times. Spitfire Vc. Winter maintenance is underway on a lot of the aircraft, so there will be bits missing on some of them. These wheels don't seem correct though. This mark should have the 5 spoke, or possibly the 3 spoke. The 4 spoke is a different hub size and brake size, and I thought they were only found on the VIII, late IX and XVI?

I have quite a few photos and I think there is a limit of how many you can put in one post? So I'll put five in each post. I apologise if it jumps around a bit. Inside the Lancaster nose section. Lancaster nose section. V2! Komet. One of my favourites. Fi-103. A V1 you can fly!

Great photos. I never knew Allen had a Lancaster fuselage. I wonder if he has more of it in storage.

There is a lot of stuff in storage! The Mig-29 was out somewhere but will be flown back for the coming season. Next on the list of big things is an Me-262. Not a reproduction, and it will fly. I asked what they were going to do about the engines, and they have contracted a company to reverse engineer the original engines using modern materials. Will be great to see! Next time I'm down I'll ask about the Lancaster. The Lanc is TW911. Never saw service. It was supposed to be part of Tiger Force but the war ended before they were deployed. Ivan Frost (now deceased) who was a F/Sgt on 75 in WWII was part of Tiger Force (they were family friends, so I saw him lots when I was growing up). I should try to contact family members and see if anyone has his logbook. He might have flown this very machine! Is one of the Mossies at Avspecs for Paul Allen?
