My friend Jim Carlyle popped around yesterday and he said that he'd spotted a really large artillery piece with a huge barrel, possibly up to 16 inch diameter he said, and an eight-wheel carriage, on the back of a truck heading along State Highway 1 yesterday through Cambridge. he wasn't sure if it was Army or Navy, and he said it was blue.
Does anyone here know more? What, how old, where from and where it was going?

The description and colour do sound pretty unusual for an artillery piece, I wonder if Jim may have mistaken something else. Perhaps some Pile driving equipment from the bypass project? 16 Inch is a pretty big gun! if he's referring to Calibre, that would be Battleship Yamato size!
