Found these great shots on a RC plane forum, some of them look like wartime in colour!
Worth looking at all of the pages and sorry if link has been posted already.

Quite a few with New Zealand connections, a great image at the bottom of page 9 of both
the civil Empire boats and RNZAF Sunderland's. Also on page 19 a Bolinbroke on floats and
further down same page Spitfire cycles, saving on fuel!

Are you referring to the colour shot Craig? As I think that's an Instrument fitter as I've seen the photos before (they were taken for Life Magazine showing ground crew servicing a Spitfire). They are great shots and I see a few modern shots in there including a certain Mosquito....................

EDIT: Ah found it, the pilot climbing into his Spitfire North Africa and indeed in shorts!
