Check out this site, it shows the gradual restoration of an Allison which seems to be an ex-RNZAF P-40 engine. There are 12 pages showing the progress. www.car.co.nz/classic.asp?action=article&articleid=1800I wonder what they hope to do with it. It must have sounded great running in their backyard!

Are they running it in the backyard in a neighbourhood ? Sheesh, betcha it made a racket !!! Good one them, looks like a fun project.

Reading the first page it says the engine was imported from Australia and is likely to be ex Bell P39, but with a P40 gearbox fitted. So not Ex RNZAF, but a really cool project nonetheless - beats boy racer cars in the neighbourhood!
