Some aviation shots from this wonderful event Mother's Day yesterday 10th May 2015. Was awesome to fly in Bell 47G ZK-ICJ and Robinson R44 II ZK-HSU both offering distinctly different views of our town. The Bell 47 provided fantastic views of the Western side of town. Interestingly, the Bell had way way less vibration than the R44! Old technology sometimes is a lot better than the 'newer' stuff they are manufacturing. Fantastic display from the Roaring Fourties aerobatic team out of Ardmore also. Shame though as their display could not be conducted over a populous area and over the water that most of the display was hidden in the sun...None the less a fantastic day out with lots of military memorabilia/displays also (will include those pics in a different thread). Here are some pics from the day. Enjoy Helicopter Flight Training's Bell 47 ZK-ICJ at Tamakae Reserve ZK-ICJ on it's second scenic flight for the day Taking off ZK-ICJ Quite a turnout to the event as you can see Waiuku has greened up nicely after all the rain! Ardmore Helicopters Robinson R44 II ZK-HSU at Waiuku Stream Onboard ZK-HSU Nice view of town and indeed my place! On approach back to Waiuku Steam ZK-HSU Off goes ZK-HSU on another scenic flight And now the Roaring Fourties Warbirds out from Ardmore Poignant Hope you enjoyed the shots! Oh, and NZ7005 C130 flying over at 25,000ft enroute to Whenuapai I would imagine...

Great photos Darren. Seeing the Bell 47 helicopter reminded me that I watched a Youtube covering a Trade show in the US focusing on a company rebuilding these iconic choppers:
