Does anyone know what N.A.D. stood for on Espiritu Santo in November 1944? I think it must have been some sort of US camp or depot. It was away from Pallikullo where the kiwis were based, and apparently there was a PX store and ice cream and iced Coca-Cola available at N.A.D.
I'd like to know what that stood for.

Does anyone know what N.A.D. stood for on Espiritu Santo in November 1944? US Navy has NAD as Naval Ammunition Depot. Would that fit?

Dave H, According to a very good web site, as well as the first offered suggestion, another alternative was offered - Naval Air Depot, which is probably a very distinct possibility (probably more so than the Ammunition one!) David D

Yes, I tend to agree there as an ammunition depot would have been out of bounds, surely. Thanks.
