I purchased a book on the RNZAF Museum whilst there the other week. It's a basic overview of the museum and exhibits.
Under a section on temporary displays, there was apparently a WWI display and included in it was a full size replica Fokker Triplane. I believe the display was called "Kiwis Over The Trenches"
Does anyone know when this display was, and who's aircraft it was loaned to the museum?
Also of interest the book lists a 'Wright Glider Replica' among their stored collection. I'd never heard of this before. Has anyone got further info on this or a photo please?

There was a 'Wright glider replica' on display at the Christchurch Museum. Probably the same one. I've got a photo of it there in 2003. Sorry can't scan it now, as my scanner has just decided to suck the kumera.

I had a look through Canterbury Museum in Christchurch when I was there a few weeks ago. An interesting little museum, but I couldn't get that voice out of the back of my mind telling me that these were the idiots that destroyed the WWI Albatross, and also saw to the demise of the RNZAF's Bf109. If they'd had some forethought, those two exhibits alone would have made the museum 'world class' to aviation enthusiasts.
There was no sign of any aircraft there, including the Wright Glider, so it must have been just on loan.

I will be contacting the Canty Museum in a wee while, as I have some business dealing to take place there... I will try and get an honest answer?
