I noted how close they were. That was the VIP enclosure!
Those Phantoms have drag chutes deployed so they must have just been in the process of landing, a bit close for comfort. Bill would have been loving it though, being an old hand.

In the Mirage photo there are two Dakotas in the background. The one on the right has a bright orange nose when you look at the original scan. Would that be a US Navy example? Or did some RNZAF C-47's get dayglo noses?

Dave, one Dakota is will probably be AZL and the other could be the CAA calibration flight one. I know they were both parked up there.

I guess this is what airshows were like before they had Portaloos? They were still like that as late as 1981 at the Ohakea show that year - I remember them quite vividly.
