Does anyone know who owns the Bristol Freighter that is stored outdoors at Ardmore?

Dwen Airmotive corporation I beleive. this used to be run by Ron Dwen, but after his death I think his son "Cowboy" (I have no idea of his real name, but everyone around Ardmore would know him as Cowboy) looks after the place. Dwen's seem to specialise in moving surplus nuts, bolts and oddball parts around the world. try contacting sales@dwenairmotive.co.nz for more info.

I'm not interested in buying it. I just wondered if a syndicate had it, or if anyone was actually thinking of trying to save it from rotting away to scrap.
I think Ardmore needs a proper aviation heritage centre where visitors can go to and watch the live planes but also see reserved statics, like thi and the Mig 21, under cover. With a restaurant/cafe and bar, etc. And photo displays and models etc depicting the history of the airport, from RNZAF to Formula One days. Imagine it, maybe even an F1 car too.

May be cheaper just to buy the Bristol Dave.... I agree, Ardmore needs a visitors centre to tie the whole "experience" together, take tours from etc. certainly that would be the ideal location to display orphan aircraft etc. A corsair would be great - even a replica would do! It is worth noting that Dwen have no particular interest in preserving the Bristol themselves - they are pretty hardnosed about this sort of thing. the only thing that has allowed it to last this long is that there are no longer any active Bristols around that require parts!

Yet. One is returning to the UK to become active isn't it?
