Hi Guys
I was at Ferrymead today for the AGM and the Mossie in her new purpose built hangar.
Those guys are doing a fantastic job there and all as volunteers. If it wasnt for them most of these planes wouldnt exist.
Wish I could spend more time there helping.
Great stuff
Anthony

Ferrymead are achieving great things with limited resources - the fact that all their major exhibits are under cover is a huge acheivement in itself. The crew there are great as well, I visited a couple of years ago on a quiet afternoon and got chatting to one of the curators. Next thing I know I'm being taken for a tour of the workshops and storage sheds, well away from the normal public areas. I Spent so long chatting the gates were just about locked when I left! The collection covers such a range of stuff, but with a very local flavour. There are lots of warbird type aircraft, classic airliners, and a comprehensive collection of ag aircraft. I'd highly recommend a visit if anyone is passing through (or snowbound in...) Christchurch.
