Mark Rogers has done some skins for the new freeware PV2 Harpoon by Milton Shupe and friends - all 4 RNZAF planes! Very nice they are too. Now....roll on the PV1 Ventura (The Lodestar is out already.....)

Cool! I've downloaded this (among many, many other types) for FSX and would love to add a Kiwi paint. Is it at SOH? FlightSim?

Currently the paints are fictional as these are the late model Ventura/Harpoon series which has different nose shape wing plan form and and the tail stabilizers are quite a bit larger and different shape but the Milton Shupe design team are working on all the early variants , RAF Ventura 1 with the Boulton-Paul turret, the B-37 and early PV-1s the RNZAF used.

I did not read the notes on that, just went with what I had here, the four returned to the USN NZ4701-04 , be nice to get a real study off that cockpit in regard to getting photo's , one thing Miltons team was lacking , and hell's they do such bloody great job of these for free, so maybe a nudge nudge to one or some off the members here, be good publicity for MOTAT and Milt.

Thanks Zac , Good on ya Dave , a great collection, a good general walk around, Zac, the information here is great for as mentioned a general walk around and would be idea for the layout, what is needed for a simulation/simulator model is super close up off each panel, one with and without a flash and with external glare, areas to be covered, best also to be clean and dusted. Good example of this is the current build, the VC for the freeware DC-3 but Jan and Mike, Jan hooking into the model build and Mike doing the gauge programming, the textures were a combination off four trips (6GBs of photos) into Wigram to get the required detail. A good example of a completed photo-real Virtual Cockpit and correct details is the FSADDON Avro Anson, the series for that was around 7.5GB off photos again Wigram. There is another aircraft incoming and again very NZ and RNZAF and that clocked out to over 10GB in photo's -TOP SECRET- . Each panel or any reference and wear and tear .. gives it that real feel and look, Dave's photos are very extremely useful but if one wants to model it for flight simulation , maybe a two day mission to get everything in order, but also ask for the option to return at a moments notice in the case information was lost. Tell you one thing ........ It is one hell off a fun mission.

And I'm on my way to get it. Now I just need to pinch Sam's laptop so I can actually fly the thing!

Please note that the RNZAF Museum has a number of excellent official photographs of the interior (and some exterior detail shots, including undernose gun pack, and ventral gun position) of an RNZAF PV-2 taken in NZ in March 1945. For those interested, contact Matthew O'Sullivan ("Keeper of Photographs") at the Museum. Some very good cockpit photos too. David D

David D I should have gone directly to Matthew, would have been a nudge nudge wink wink, been out off the game for the last couple of months and no FS at all.
