The latest Wings Over New Zealand Show is now online, and it's another in the "Wings Over Australia" series. "Episode 92 - WOA - Peter Isaacson" is an interview I did with 95-year-old Wing Commander Peter Isaacson AM, DFC, AFC, DFM, RAAF. He flew Wellington and Lancaster bombers in combat over Europe with No. 460 Squadron RAAF and No. 156 Squadron Pathfinder Force. Following the completion of 45 operations over enemy territory, Peter and his crew were selected to take a brand new Lancaster from Britain to Australia, during which he became the first pilot to fly one of these large four-engined bombers across the Atlantic and Pacific route. On arrival in Australia, they were then assigned to fly the Lancaster to New Zealand, and Peter became the first pilot to fly any aircraft direct from Melbourne to New Zealand. You can download and listen to the show here: www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/WONZShow/2015/12/woa-peter-isaacson/Lancaster "Queenie VI" that Peter and his crew flew from Britain to Australia, and then on to New Zealand.
