Yes I remember Dad saying when he got to the aircraft almost all the passengers were still in their seats. One woman was missing and found days later at the bottom of the bush line by the fence, where she'd eventually died, he said.

I'm just guessing but it is probably NZ3094 which was rescued from Rukuhia by John Chambers and is now with the Pay family in Aussie. It was at Don's place for some years.

Hi Dave, Thanks for that, if NZ3094 then one of the Tongan P40-E-1's taken over by the RNZAF. Totally awesome!!! That's one cool photo, and gives a lot of Historical Technical information. Especially the cockpit colour - would drive some know it alls from a certain World geographical location nuts....... Thanks/regards Alan

Hudson bits, I think these are all at Asplin's Rukuhia aircraft graveyard Inside what may be NZ2032, December 1967 Either NZ2030 or NZ2032, December 1967 Either NZ2030 or NZ2032, December 1967 Hudson turrets, December 1967 Not sure if this is Rukuhia, Dated 30 Dec 1968 [Corrected] And this last one is NZ2035 at Ferrymead, with some other scrap (Harvard wing included?)

That last one looks more like Ferrymead with the ex Deep Freeze Dak in the background. The last Hudson - I don't believe this is at Rukuhia - appears to have been converted to a shed. The other Hudson photos are Rukuhia.

Does anyone know where the photo of the Vampires was taken? Very cool.

I have been wondering that too Jason. It looks a bit like a barn.

I think that is where Ken Jacobs had them stored at Renwick

Is that photo of the fuselage section with the door open captioned'Not sure if this is Rukuhia, Dated 30 Dec 1968" the same one that is or was at Ohakea?

I was wondering the same thing Peter. It certainly looks familiar and may be the same fuselage section.

That last one looks more like Ferrymead with the ex Deep Freeze Dak in the background. Definitely Ferrymead, presumably the remains of Harvard NZ1080 in the foreground.

Oh so that is NZ2035? I thought on first glance it looked like Ferrymead but the back of the photo stated it was MOTAT's aircraft in Dunedin. I'm not familiar enough with either place to dispute that, so good to get confirmation.

Pretty sure it is NZ1080 - the dents in the wing seem to match up. by , on Flickr
